Need poem interpreter...?
Maybe it's just about lizards...maybe you don't need to see any other connection. The poem speaks about the relationship of the lizard to its cousin, the Chamelion and it's mythic counterpart, the Dragon of lore. It shows that although the lizard is smaller (through lack of use..or atrophy) than a dragon, it still breathes death to the unwary insect who believes it is too slow, too small, too dull to catch it. it doesn't take a great leap of insight to see how these attributes might describe other things in life...just give it your best shot, you'll be fine.
