Can I break a rental agreement if the unit was misrepresented?
When I agreed to move into my current apartment, I was led to believe the unit had a laundry room that was to be built and a parking space. The laundry room should have been finished Oct 1st and as of today still hasn't even been started. The parkin that I was told was mine, actually belongs to the commerical building across the parking lot. My lease actually states that my unit includes 1 parking space. I have the original advertisment for the apartment that says it has a laundry room and emails from my landlord promising that the laundry room would be started. Had I known I was not going to have laundry or parking I would not have rented this unit. Can I break my lease without any penalties?
