How to teach 33 mo old with language delay?
Congrats on the early intervention! My son has Aspergers Syndrome (not at all suggesting your son has it!) he had speech delays and no matter how many times We'd ask the pre-school or pediatrician for help, no one would listen!! It's been a fight, but now he's 9 and even though he can talk too fast at times, he speaks clearly! One teacher we had suggested hooked on phonics the early year one. We read all we can together, there are plenty of dvds that can help especially if your time is crunched! plop him in front of them! Soon he'll be saying words you wouldn't have dreamed of!! My sons sister who is 5 now has been exposed to all of brothers speech games and movies and I constantly get asked where she picked up her words! That makes me proud ;-) You can google speech delay dvds, speech help, anything! Puppets are great too!! There is a world of help out there for you! Please continue to be his advocate and even if it's a few minutes a day, your efforts are going to mean the world!!!!
