Infant bohns nodules ?

My infant is 2 1/2 months old and has a spot that looks like a tooth coming through the front of her gum. it is white and hard like a tooth i took her to the doctors today and they said it was a bohns nodule. This spot showed up on sunday after a long sat night of a cranky baby she was so uncomfortable and had been showing all the signs of teething for a week prior to the spot showing up. It showed up like a tooth and all but I dont know she is my 5th child. Has anyone else had this. I thought it strange for a tooth to come out the front side of the top gum rather than out the bottom of the gum and it is off to the left a little.
