How do I climb the social ladder?

Hey, I go to a small 2a school I'll be a freshman in high school next year and I'm tired of being labeled as a nerd. I have known the kids in my cl since 1st grade so I'm kinda branded with this title. I'm on the varsity football roster and I'm just sick of not having girls and having low self esteem. The people who i use to be friends with have been just unnerving recently and I don't think we are much of friends anymore. We had a picnic for our ceremony of going into high school and every picture of me I'm in the background by my self. Then I think of the last time I talks to a girl for more than a min. And I couldn't think of a time. I'm really sick of this way of life and i want to move up from the very bottom instead of just being that kid anymore.
